Is the editing process holding you back from publishing your book?

If your answer is YES, then my Polish-to-Publish™ book-editing service is for you!

We’re all human, so we make mistakes.

However, your written mistakes can be “fixed” with editing. And no, spell check is NOT enough.

You need a professional to help you carry the excellence that your brand carries.

That said, are you ready to start the book-editing process so that you can feel confident when publishing your book?

I understand the anxiety behind the editing process.

I know you don’t want to share anything less than the best (written) representation of your work. So, I urge you to think twice about treating your book like just another small action item on your to-do list. (Otherwise, you’ll suffer the consequences of the grammar police.)

FUN FACT: In 2013, I published my first book, SoKoDiaries: An American Teacher Living in South Korea, without a professional editor…

Of course the “minor editing needed” was a blow to my ego, but it also inspired me to help other authors avoid this public humiliation. I DON’T WANT THIS TO BE YOU! This is why I go so hard for my clients when it comes to bringing clarity to their ideas.

YIKES!

Don’t publish a low-quality book that looks good on the outside but is questionable on the inside.

Think about how many people you could help if your ideal readers got a hold of your words. Now, tell me why your words are not published yet?

If your answer is “I need a book editor,” then I have a simple solution for you…

Book Editing FAQs

What are the steps in your book-editing service?

Well, first there’s the digital consultation form or online questionnaire, which asks a few starter questions. Once that’s submitted, you’ll receive an immediate email asking to submit your manuscript for an editing assessment a.k.a. manuscript audit. Once the manuscript has been reviewed, you’ll receive an email with the investment amount and project timeline. Upon client’s approval, you’ll receive a separate email including a proposal, a contract, and an invoice…and that’s when the editing clock will start ticking! :)

Can I trust you with my manuscript?

Absolutely. Not only am I a trustworthy person in general (shout out to my mom), I, by law, cannot replicate any books or words from another author. In other words, all books (manuscripts) are legally covered once they are submitted through my portal.

Can I set up a consult call before submitting my manuscript?

I typically don't schedule calls outside of my system because there is a process that I follow to help me serve clients in the best way possible for both of us. Also, manuscript submissions give me a point of reference in case I have questions for the prospective client as well. Don’t worry, you’ll have the opportunity to schedule a Zoom call with me to discuss book edits after the onboarding process. My face will put you at ease. LOL :)

What is the turnaround time for a book editing job?

It depends on the word count. My most popular package is the 10,001-20,000-word package, and the turnaround time for the first revision (draft) is 19 business days. There are two revisions after the first draft, and they have a 9-business-day turnaround time each. So, we’re looking at an overall timeline of roughly 37 business days, depending on the speed with which the client returns his or her edits, comments, and approvals.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. If requested, I offer a deposit of 50% before the service begins and the remaining balance the day before the first round of edits is returned.

CLIENT Success STORIES

Tonya Rapley,
author of
The Money Manual

"Working with Nailah was such a pleasure. She came in during the last minute to provide services after I was unhappy with the job done by a previous editor. I would have saved time and peace of mind had I gone with her initially! She relieved a burden in the already burdensome book publishing process, and I'm so much more comfortable releasing my creation to the world because of her. Nailah is a true professional who clearly managed expectations and communicated throughout the process."

Darius D. Odom,

The Gold Standard Male

"First I would like to start off saying that I was extremely fortunate for having Nailah as my book editor/formatter. Not only are her editing skills elite, but her ability to make you feel comfortable throughout the entire process is outstanding…you can definitely tell that she loves what she does. I recommend Nailah to anyone who is seeking a book editor or book coach."

Crystal Whiteaker,

author of
Brave Leadership is a Choice

"Nailah is a gem to work with! It was important to me when hiring an editor for my book that we have at least some crossover in our lived experiences due to the content and I'm so glad I found Nailah! Throughout the entire editing process, she was patient, warm, and graceful in her guidance. Nailah took time to ask clarifying questions to make sure the work being produced was clear, consistent, and in alignment with my writing style."
