The difference between an author and a book influencer
Are you an author or a book influencer?
Let’s talk about it.
Today’s blog post is inspired by my current social media news feed that is centered around meeting half-year marks. A lot of aspiring authors are still working toward their goal of becoming a published author before 2024 ends, and I’m saddened that a lot of people are not moving toward book influencership.
So what’s the difference, you ask?
An author is simply the writer of a book. And I’m not implying that writing a book is an easy task because a well-written book can be taxing on an author. I’m advising that you give your “well-written” book a purpose by providing a solution for your target readers. One way to do this is by writing a non-fiction, thought leadership book with a given framework to help someone in your industry achieve a desired result. The framework positions you as a book influencer because you can use the same framework in future speaking engagements, online courses, and the like.
Becoming an author shows your dedication to the art of writing, but becoming a book influencer establishes your authority in your industry as you’ll encourage other thought leaders to write an informational book.
These are my thoughts, but I’d love to hear yours in the comment section. :)
